BSL Becomes Micralign™ “OEM”
As BSL is about to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, we are pleased to announce that ASML is transferring all rights concerning the Micralign™ Projection Mask Aligners to BSL as of July 1st. This means that Micralign™ customers will continue to receive the highest quality service, parts and training for many, many years to come. In addition to BSL becoming the ‘OEM’ for Micralign, BSL also gains exclusive rights to the complete range of ASML High Pressure Mercury Arc Lamps.

Our focus has always been on cost-effective designs with high reliability parts, user friendly software and hardware peripherals. With our lower overhead & Activity Based Costing (ABC), our goal is to reduce the cost of ownership for our customers. This transfer gives us the opportunity to continue improving on the reliability and performance of the Micralign™ Projection Mask Aligner.

Our goal is to make this a seamless transition for all our current and new customers.

Beta Squared Lithography Welcomes New Employee

Beta Squared Lithography, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Boon Kok (B.K.) Au as Senior Customer Support Engineer for our Singapore subsidiary. BK brings more than 15 years’ experience in the Wafer Manufacturing Industry. During that time he held a variety of positions in Manufacturing and Vendor Support Environment in Lithography, Diffusion and CVD in the SE Asia Market. Previous employers include Seagate, SVG and (KT) KLA / TENCOR. Please join us in welcoming BK aboard.

Beta Squared Lithography, Inc. Announces Promotion of Horst G. Burandt
Brookfield, CT, April 2010 - Beta Squared Lithography, Inc. is the world's leading supplier of refurbished Micralign™ Projection Mask Aligners announced the promotion of Horst G. Burandt to Vice President. Mr. Burandt will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, including all of the engineering design and manufacturing functions.

“Horst has been a key part of our success, and we are thrilled to promote him to this important position“, said Curt Timmerman, President/CEO of Beta Squared Lithography, Inc.

Prior to Joining BSL, Mr. Burandt accrued 22 years of Design and Manufacturing experience, 15 of those years in the Medical Equipment business, most notably at Lorad/Hologic.

ABOUT Beta Squared Lithography, Inc. – provides mainstream lithography equipment that incorporate custom-designed solutions to expand and improve the capabilities of the product to the customer. BSL also has a full-service repair facility for many of the repairable parts of the Micralign™. These services span electrical / electronic board repair, optics stripping / re-coating / alignment and mechanical repair / alignment. What is an LED?
An LED or light-emitting diode is a semiconductor light source. Used as indicator lamps in many devices, LEDs are now being used for many lighting applications both commercially and domestically. LEDs are a “green” source of light as compared to incandescent light bulbs. Advantages of LEDs are longer life, more energy efficiency, improved robustness, smaller size, faster switching, and more reliable and durable.

Over the past three years, we have sold over a dozen Micralign™ Projection Mask Aligners into the HB LED market. We have been told by the LED manufacturers “It is accepted knowledge that brighter LEDs are achieved through the use of Projection Mask Aligners.” We continue to work with many LED manufacturers to give them the best lithography equipment to make better and brighter LEDs now and in the future.

Solar Devices
Solar Device also referred to as a solar cell; simply put, this is a device that converts sunlight energy into electricity by the photovoltaic (PV) effect. PV is the area of technology related to the application of solar cells in producing electricity for practical use. In short; sunlight is captured by a solar panel and absorbed by semiconducting materials. The electrons are knocked loose from their atoms, thus allowing them to flow through the material to produce electricity.
